This is a surprise. I thought WPG wanted to be an iron ore producer, with all the upside that entailed. The deal looks like a good short term gain for shareholders - I guess the question is how much longer term upside has been taken away by OST with this transaction?
WPG's future is the coal sector may be viable, but it is further down the production chain and timeline.
