These tenements have collectively been named the Canabrava Tenements. The areas applied for lie within a region of known hematite and magnetite mineralisation associated with an anomalous aeromagnetic signature. The area was identified from data produced from the recent low-level, high resolution airborne magnetic survey commissioned by Cabral.
