Can't say i know too much about LYC nor MCP's economics, but I think you may be a little off the mark saying anyone else with a grade of less than ~20% will incur production costs of $75-100/kg.

ARU for example is still very profitable at $22/kg basket price (see asx release dated 11/10/10) And have indeed produced separated REO's (asx release dated 13/9/10)
    May be worth another look?

ALK on the other hand will also be very profitable- the REE are just the cherry on top, mostly i believe a Zirconium and Niobium play with a gobsmacking 150+ yr resource- very robust economics.

Anyway, sorry to everyone, i know this is NTU's thread. I hope they find something soon :)
