Another example of nutty thinking by those involved here follows:
If a person extracts say $100k from his employer over time and uses that for his own benefit, then I have always been taught that that is FRAUD pure and simple.
Some seem to think that is Ok if you give the money back if you are caught. Wow thats amazing stuff. That says its Ok and there is no risk ever involved as long as you are willing to pay the money back when caught. Thats complete rubbish. a person who is prepared to operate in that way doesnt deserve ever to hold public office. A leader who backs such a person doesnt deserve to hold office.
From what I have read, it seems that people are saying its all Ok as the $100k has been repaid by the Union not paying out the last $100k due as termination pay. Reports suggest that the Tax office has an interest in such a transaction. If income tax was not paid out on that last $100k then it would have resulted in tax avoidance. I wonder if that is their area of concern?
The whole thing reeks. Why would our PM publicly support any person involved in this sort of stuff? Its way beyond mu comprehension.
