Even a leftist govt would want a monster gold resource exploited for the revenue (taxes), community welfare programs and employment. PRA has already been very active in local communities in this regard.
I doubt whether the govt would have the wherewithall or expertise to do it themselves.
Don't forget that PRA bought out Peru Minerals who would have forged working relationships with the business community and govt who would relise it's in the best interests of the country to develop such a large resource (providing it is, of course) for two main reasons: 1/ Maintain Peru's reputation as the fastest growing economy in Sth America, and 2/ Give the new govt credibility as a reliable trading partner.
The new president has already been to the US to cement relationships with Obama...
Relax all, IMO anyway.
