Do tell me: what relevant modern technology is currently being produced outside of China at a reasonable cost for the Western market place?
Apple seems to have no problems with China "controlling" their sales - period.
If anything producing a vertically integrated product in the country most likely to have the biggest up-take of that technology and the interest to financially back that product is rather brilliant.
