So I downloaded the ABS house price index, and adjusted it for inflation based on an assumed 2.5% rate.
Based on these real, medians, prices have been decreasing since the first peak of ~ Dec 2006.
Also, unless one bought before June 2006, or in between Dec 2008 and June 2009, then based on medians, one is down in real terms at this point.
