Shenhua Energy, China?s largest coal producer, is interested in developing massive coal deposits in Russia?s most northeastern state, Chukotka, according to a report published by industry portal (coalportal.com).

Shenhua signed a partnership agreement with the Chukotka governor, Roman Kopin, to join forces to carry out geological exploration, possible production and processing of coal reserves of 4.5 billion tonnes and developing necessary infrastructure.
