i find comments like this laughable when its used to support the government taking its hands off the bank and letting them do what they want
do you even realise what you are saying? it seems to you its ok for people to have to take responsibility for their own actions but not the tax payer protected and subsidised(MBS, central bank) banks?
the banks are backstopped by the tax payer, when push comes to shove, we the taxpayer really own the banks they are just pretending to be a private company until their business models eventually fails and the directors walk away with a golden parachute
why shouldn't APRA have the means to force banks to do what they want?
