Hey Mr P ,
I think we all know the " quality " of the asset. The issue there for me is the way they are going about the sale . STO in conjunction with ESG management is talking it down by using the IER ( as Yaq points out in his post ).
When the SOA was first announced I thought maybe there was an issue with the reservoirs or the gas contents. . STO's continued interest has convinced me otherwise. Also , so far I can't see where the IER is critical of the resource in that way.
Think back to when you're trading in a car.
The usual excuses - the market's down , this was an unpopular model , color etc. We'll have to spend heaps on it.
The next day you see your old car driving past with it's new owner. Not to mention how much he made on the new car you bought .
Hmmm , was the salesman telling the truth ?
Same deal here imo , just on a much bigger scale.
