The baggage is not left sitting as it is during checkin. It is moved quickly from the plane to the conveyors giving almost no window of opportunity for someone to remove a large bag of drugs and stash it somewhere. the chances of discovery would be high. It seems to be a high risk operation that relies on chance, why don't they simply use legitimate couriers to deliver it?
