All so-called Vendor bids should be illegal.
As long as it is clear it is a vendor bid, what's the big deal? It tells the bidders that they have not reached the reserve and that the vendor does not believe that the bids entitle the highest bidder any special rights.
If passed in on a vendor's bid ALL bidders (and non-bidders) are entitled to put forward an offer in the kitchen after the auction closes.
