I believe they do,even though I have never belonged when given the choice with previous employment.
There will always be unscrupulous employers, but I have to say that the militancy and corruption by union bosses is an absolute turn off. I have been burned as an employer by a union, however for the decent, working Australian, I am all in favor as we would soon return to workers being taken advantage of by some,particulary when there is high unemployment.
