And how many Liberal members are ex lawyers?
Not too many business people in there anyway.
I think we see too many professional politicians and many from both sides worked their way up from staffers etc.
Yes, I appreciate that many if not most start from a political advocacy from Uni days and it becomes their goal.
Nothing wrong with having a passion about reform of society I guess, but both sides often see it from a text book philosophy.
I think that they are then tempered by reality and either become more pragmatic or corrupted in the main.
The good ones are the former and the latter a curse.
At times one could wish a wartime environment ruled when a compilation government formed that could be more constructive. So much is wasted on needless opposition.
All the same, it is hard to ignore the fact that allowing for the swings left and right that we haven't ended up in a society that we are all pretty much happy with.
I for one can't think of anywhere else I would rather live.
