Schiffhead - Don't forget the maul is still only a fancy 12 gauge shotgun with a short barrel so read about 30m range? But it has the fancy stacked rounds, so at the end of the day you use it with devastating effect in door to door street fighting - not out in the hills at longer ranges.

I seem to recall that as the Maul uses lightweight carbon fibre throwaway barrel tubes (which BTW is why it can progress to market quicker without the TRL levels that the 3GL has been burdened with) and those tubes are made by our yank colleagues - that the US Defence 'does' have to OK every one of any international sales. Correct me if I'm wrong? While I think of it - it's a bit of a surprise they okayed the PNG deal.... or DID they? Hmmmm - the Russians 'may' get a look in one day - but personally I would be shocked if Colt etc doesn't team up with the Marines as first 'military' cab off the rank?

I'm not sure how the separate enforcement market (huge) will get going also via Colt and the taser boys. Sheesh - we NEED one or more of these shows up and running - when do we want it - NOW?
