COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1637.60 oz. The Oct gold contract rose $25.60 to $1640.30 oz, the Dec contract rose $25.60 to $1641.60 oz. Oct silver was up 52.2c to $30.317 oz. Oct platinum rose $16.10 to $1478 oz and Oct copper rose 0.003c to 309.75c lb.
LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $6860.50 tonne (pre $6785), tin $21,250 (pre $20,350), lead $1947 (pre $1961), zinc $1831 (pre $1835.50), aluminium $2132 (pre $2133) and nickel $18,425 (pre $18,385).
The 3-month ask prices were copper $6881 (pre $6812), tin $21,250 (pre $20,350), lead $1910 (pre $1920.50), zinc $1852.50 (pre $1858), aluminium $2165 (pre $2171) and nickel $18,415 (pre $18,450).
OIL... Nov crude rose $4.01 to $79.68 a barrel, with a high of $79.82 and a low of $76.94. The Dec contract rose $3.96 to $79.83 a barrel with a high of $79.95 and low of $77.13. Brent ICE for Nov rose $2.98 to $102.77 a barrel with a high of $102.78 and a low of $101.08.
US DOLLAR... is changing hands at 76.76 yen (pre 76.88), against the euro it is US$1.3346 (pre 1.3310) against sterling US$1.5465 (pre 1.5452) and against the Swiss franc US$1.0827 (pre 1.0921).
AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at US96.51c compared with US95.43c on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of US96.62c and low of US94.90c. Against the yen it is at 74.07 (pre 73.33) at 72.34 euro cents (pre 71.66) and 62.42 British pence (pre 61.74).
