Most often was 23 international trips one year - 1997 that would have been.
Mostly in Asia but also Europe and the US. Never Africa to my regret.
I haven't flow out of the country since 2002. Only domestic flights since then. But it's a travesty that international check-ins are exactly the same as domestic check-ins.
Singapore used to have a setup where bags had to be sealed with those tough plastic straps that have to be cut to get them off. Useless in my view if they don't have a look in the bag first. It was just a spot on the area between check-in counters where you took your bags to be wrapped. Certainly not expensive to operate.
If they just wrap the bags without looking inside, any suicide bomber (don't say there's not a lot of them please) would feel confident to put a bomb in their checked luggage and have it safely sealed in.
A number of times I've had those little zipper locks removed or broken. No idea why.
It's not good enough. Don't give me that sad story of how much cost and inconvenience. No doubt you refuse to have your garbage collected in this "nanny state". Or refuse to call the police when you get burgled.
