The activists in Indonesia are fully aware of the high public profile and interest in this case in Australia. The more support that they see for her coming from Australia the stronger their protests will become. Not only are they concerned about the issue of drugs but possibly more so about Australia being able to exert influence over their justice system or politicians. If this case had remained low key Corby may have had a better chance of being treated leniently. By making it a media circus it has probably been to her detriment.
