Here is an extract that really spells out the main reason why it is so hard for Bauxol to take off. The real value of the I-99 project is NOT in the amount of money it will earn but in putting this fear to rest once and for all.
Extract as follows:
"As the DEP stumbles upon their latest ‘solution’ for I-99 cleanup, two grave concerns come to mind. Is the treatment more harmful than the ailment, and who is footing the bill? It is not out of the question that Bauxol treatment may have contamination issues, along with introducing new ones. Although the level of acid rock sulfites may fall, it will require large amounts of Bauxol, at least 70,000 cubic yards. The DEP claims that fish and plant life thrive in Bauxol-treated habitats, but their research has not commented on the effects it will have on our drinking water. They plan to run these treatment tests before informing the public of any hazards this may have to people directly, let alone the environment. The public needs to know the potential fallout of this hasty decision."
