I, for one, am impressed with maturation and development of AD as both a politician and a stateman
I think he represent Oz in a most dignified and astute manner on the world stage and i'm sure his approach garners respect for Oz in the hard school of world opinion.
In fact...my call is that Costello is now manouvering for leadership resolition because of perhaps Downer
A year ago, the ascention of PC to the office of PM seemed a given.
However, there may now be a perception on his part that there are other candidates who if given the opportunity to throw their hats in the ring with sufficient momentum build-ip time
.....then the job he so covets (and i think deserves) may elude him.
