Hi,
Fly into Chiang Mai[tiger direct from Singapore I think].
See this, Chiang Rai,and Golden Triangle.
Take night train to Bangkok[2nd class sleeper].
Look around Bangkok, stay Khaosan rd.
Bangkok to Kanchanaburi[also great backpacker area, Jolly Frog a great place to stay] for Burma Railroad, Hellfire Pass, river Kwai[take train from Bangkok], Tiger temple.

Train/Bus to Koh Samui[and other islands on the way].

Minibus from ferry terminal at Surathani , to Phuket.
Ferry to Koh Phi Phi, then to Krabi, then Andaman sea ferry system thru to Langkawi.

Fly to KL, then home.

Side trips will present themselves as you go.
As will various people to travel and talk with.
