If the Markets went kaputski in the future there is no such thing as a 'defensive' stock. Let's pick, food. People have to eat, true, but let's say WOW was at bargain price of $20 and the Markets went kaputski, I will bet you $1000,000 that that stock will fall just like the rest, where it stops nobody will know, just like 2008.
There is NO chance that everything will fall and WOW will flutter of to the stratosphere. There are cyclic stocks but there are no defensive stocks for when all markets say 'see you later.'
