The unions are not demanding Jetstar pilots be paid the same as Qantas, this is **** circulated by management, just like the double digit pay rise claims.... they are simply trying to prevent Qantas from further circumnavigating the agreed Australian EBAs by basing pilots offshore and starting subsidiaries like Jetconnect.
In addition, I have provided detailed pilot salarly figures which liken the salaries of Virgin to Qantas instead of Jetstar. Virgin is trying to take the corporate market with lounges and premium seats, while Qantas is in a race to the bottom. Perhaps Qantas should be more concerned about raising the quality of its product and engaging with staff instead of calling them "kamikazes.."
Your argument is basically that the whole concept of a quality legacy carrier (Qantas) is not possible because of cheaper competitors (Tiger/Virgin), which is invalid as there are many successful premium carriers recording profits and thriving. (Air New Zealand recently ordered more planes, Qantas did too....for Jetstar).
