It's good to see some quality discussion on this and I agree with a lot of what is being said. Nanalevu, I understand what you are saying but in the case of Vanguard it's a different story though. The fund that is buying RDR only chooses 50 stocks - I have watched this closely for some time and they don't short sell these select stocks. They choose these 50 or so stocks very carefully and accumulate. This fund was established in 1984 and is currently holding only 45 stocks WORLDWIDE while currently worth $4.1billion. Now why do you think they saw value in RDR when they commenced purchasing at .58 and continue to accumulate every day. As a part of a diversified fund, I actually think it was for additional exposure to the Li and V, just my opinion. I would much rather them buying into RDR than selling out.
