I have heard on the grapevine that Qantas mainline increased its ground handling contracts by 20%. When no service user renewed their contract due to the ridiculous price hike, its wholly owned subsidiary QGS came in and offered the same contracts at a much reduced rate. I believe this is called "spill and fill" in the business world.
And we wonder why the TWU are annoyed....
