    fear cuts both ways - its been abbott and the like running around claiming towns would disappear and the economy would collapse from the carbon tax.
    thats pushing the fear button.

    but apart from that, this false argument keeps returning:

    that's not logical.
    just because something occurs naturally doesn't mean we cannot also trigger or influence it.
    the entire pharmaceutical industry (and arguably medicine itself) is built on human intervention into natural processes.

    but, to put it more profanely, it's the same as arguing:
    trees fall down anyway so taking a chainsaw to them will have no impact;
    or worse:
    my dog shits anyway, so a diet of laxatives won't matter.

    I don't think so!
