    As I posted earlier IMO the stakes able to be bet on pokies per spin needs to be lowered as being able to lose up to $1,200 an hour at present is way too high.

    You could stick any figure in there. Whether it's too much depends on the person's circumstances. Reducing the hourly amount you can lose will not solve problem gambling on its own. Reducing their access is the only way. Obvioulsy doing this cold would be a problem for the viability of many pubs and clubs that rely so heavily on this now. It would need to be a stepped approach. Reduce number of machines, reduce gambling times allowed, reduce total spend, remove ATM machines etc etc.

    The major problem is state reliance on the taxes of gambling. Wilkie's narrow minded solution is just pampering to political resistance. It won't work.
