B-pat, as you know I was sad to see the demise of the VRB but young Tim (as an example) found stabalising the electrolytes a significant and regular problem. The issue seemed to be that the whole design was too 'design and performance' critical. In other words, it don't work efficiently or effectively enough without fine tuning and large failures. Shame!
