The victims are the travelling public, the innocent Qantas workers with no involvement, and the airline's reputation, which is probably now beyond repair.
The Federal government set up this situation with its open skies policy, which placed Australian airline workers up against airlines funded by foreign governments with wage rates and tax rates much lower than Qantas has to work with.
