how do you send an 'unskilled' job to china when the 'unskilled' are required to do the job in australia.
i'm no talking about making cardboard or smelting steel - who is going to clean up your mess at the shopping centre, who is going to serve your fries, who is going to unload your bags ?
whats to say that accountancy cant be shipped to india ?
what about legal matters ?
what about superannuation fund managers ?
what about civil engineering ?
what about everything to do with IT - that can be done remotely ?
what part of the bigger picture does not compute. people who are paid pauper slave like wages who are unable to consume and are therefore unable to contribute to the overall success of society leads to 1 thing only - corporations getting super rich and the rest of the country down the drain.
just like america.
looking at the world through PE's and share prices and costs and profits will lead to that. if thats what all that matters in this country, I dont want to be a part of it. the fact it we have safety nets - minimum wages, free health care and unions. no one wants to give up their 38 hour work week or 4 weeks annual leave yet they want unions destroyed.
unions only exist as a counter balance to corporations. corporations on the whole are sociopathic entities who have no empathy, no care, no nothing. people are just a number to them and should they get full control the country will turn to into a plutocracy like america, totally broken, collective unionised bargaining declared illegal in many states and a population about to explode.
the views of people in here, in general, are very sad. they mirror that of a corporation. totally unsympathetic to the numbers on the annual report - for each of you, YOU are the reason unions exist.
If corporations were fair and equitable on the whole unions would not exist in the first place.
