I'm not pro union or qantas but people are stating that the unions are after more money "significant pay increases" and holding the airline to ransom.
the pilots undertook no industrial action and have been negotiating a new award with Qantas for the last 2 years. Also they are not after more money but that a qantas plane should be staffed by a pilot paid to aust standards.
Qantas want to be able to fly planes based in Thailand or Malaysia and pay wages less than those paid to the aust based pilots. Qantas already does this with New Zealand based planes and crew.
I can see why a pilot would argue its side and I can see why Qantas wants to do what it wants to do.
