The beautiful thing for Alan Joyce is he can't lose. It's only upside for him.
He'll now be head hunted somewhere else and ride off into the sunset in 12 months, leaving behind him a bunch of sackings and a trail of destruction. That's how these faceless management types operate. People that have put in 15 years service will find themselves out of work because this little hero wants to make a name for himself.
He'll be known as the prick that took on the unions and stopped a nation. The type of man shareholders love to see and the type employees love to see the back of.
The union must know where the business plan headed but you can guarantee they'll try choking him first.
