I think Lionel007 had a few very posts on this - re the changing of the guard. It's not the same businesses, and not the same credit environment, so they have had to adjust, the easy money (staff money, not equity money) has been made and these guys don't won't to start all over again.
I think the down side is pretty limited from here. Loosing the mac-premium has happened, prospect of buy back should support it, and there's an ever so small chance that broking/IB markets get better.
