"If capital and trade are free to flow then why shouldn't the same apply to human beings? If we have a global village as far as economics go then why is it that some argue for the exclusion of people from it. Thus it is an oddity that the Liberals are so anti refugee."

Capitalism has no borders at all. Socialism does. When you have social policies, medicare, education, centrelink, pensions etc you cannot afford open borders. When the USA grew by leaps and bounds there was no social policies at all.

Now we start to turn toward globalisation these social policies will start to be dismantled. You can already hear the starting gun. Cannot afford the baby boomer pensions, cannot afford employee rights, unions are our enemies propoganda, increasing foreign ownership, increasing casualisation of the workforce and increasingly highly skilled workers are able to move freely globally which was fine when they were coming here, but now with pilots and engineers as an eg we see skilled Australians need to increasingly emigrate to work.

So those that want free markets I am sure, will be first to blame everyone but themselves when all it's elements are revealed.
