There's a flaw here, which still has me scratching my head....
Yes all the people in the village were 100 euro in debt, but they also had 100 euro in assets. (They were each owed 100 euro by someone else).
So they started with net assets of zero, but now they actually have zero.
I don't quite know which is worse, or if there actually is a difference between the 2 parts of that last sentence.
