I have been thinking about the likelihood of the following.
GFC1 we saw the hiding of massive losses / risky assets in special vehicles.
Could right now we have the opposite happening? Could there be some grand conspiracy for the banks making things look worse than they are, whilst they are slowing building up larger positions?
Just looking at all the news out there for the economy, we have what looks like a small recovery trying to breakout ... however it just keeps getting smashed at every opportunity.
