gents,thanks Al and CW,
just to clarify my view,of course you take the higher grades when they're there, but you don't let the low hanging fruit rot either, because your cherry picking in a hurry and destroy the crops total value on the way.
In fml's case, most of this low grade material was just sitting about in loose piles within a KM or so of the mill and the cost of picking it up and sticking it thru the plant, was minimal equipment wise.Best to do it when there's a dollar or 50 in it.
Underground can quite often be a case of take it NOW,or leave it uneconomic to access or inaccessable later.
The pits,YES THE PITS,well we all know what they're after at around 150mtrs SSSHHH and there's likely only one way to get there on the cheap and that's with an open pit as big as you can afford to make it,OR MANY RUNNING INTO EACH OTHER.SSSHHHH and we don't see much point in drilling that deep to start mining -DO WE? 30-45mtrs is plenty to keep onlookers happy - UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE and we're already processing the other ore if it's there and the geophys already says it goes deeper doesn't it?
Isn't it just great when you can process the lowgrade and make part of such development costs, production costs on the way down.
FML management know what they're doing, they have the plan and i still have the words ringing in my ears"well on the way to becoming the largest gold producer in australia".Don't remember who,or when, but certainly associate that asside with FML management commentary.Mistaken i may easily be,so it's just a niggle in the back of my mind as far as FML are concerned.I pick up on these things when they are said with such a level of matter of fact certainty rather than BULL Bravado.
Fml's history is a case of amalgamate, expand, consolidate gains, move forward and do it all again from a more strengthened position.Remember how they got where they are, bought out a partner to be in control of the site all when gold was a pittance to todays price.
Great management that doesn't have them accumulating billions of options at 2c and stealing shareholder wealth and assets on any upswing unlike so many other ASX listed companies. The moment they start that lark,i'll be long gone.
Go McFocus, beats Giovannis's Pizza Palace, every way.And if case you didn't know,McDonalds isn't a burger company, but IS THE LARGEST OWNER OF PRIME COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE IN AMERICA and a few other countries, with locked in tenants. That's it's real business. All is never what you see on the surface.
