The article covers just about all legal marks.

What it does not do is invent some new legal status for baggage and the ownership of it just because it happened to clear a Brisbane baggage check.

Something even Cordy's defence did not try and do

If you place some drugs in your bag and your bag clears the baggage check at any Australian airport through luck, human error, system error or any other means this does not mean you are no longer responsible for whats in the bag until you take posession of it at your destination.

Passing baggage or any other security check at an airport is NOT a guarantee that your baggage is completely clear and free of any illegal items.
