News from a driller of CHK wells 15-Nov-11 04:59 pm


I just talked to the driller for some of the Chesapeake wells. He said they did mess up the wells. He told me that by not using modern technology they didn't get what they should have. He said from the logs on the Enterprise well it should have been a good hole. However, they missed the Niobrara. When they went to make the bend it was 40 feet above the formation and they had to try to make the well bore slope down the the target. He said they also messed up the frac jobs on some of the other wells. He said when they got the Chinese money they thought they could just go nuts and drill holes and it didn't work without studying the formations more closely. Soooooo, like I said before the CHK wells can pretty much be thrown out the window
