    Hi Bernard
I totally agree. It is frustrating that our energy industry is one of the last major Australian industries with massive inflexibility. I think it might be "The Lucky Country" syndrome with all that coal. Really, the carbon tax is a distraction from the real task of changing all the regulations and making the economic environment for AE friendlier. But that would be just too hard. Pollies do talk rubbish: "fuel cells and shower heads". Do we make "green" shower heads?
I think a little Oz co Eden (EDE) might produce fuel cells (Transport application/Hydrogen/Pem?) in Australia.
All fuel cell companies around the world are struggling to produce and sell product and to reduce costs in order to commercialise. PEM type fuel cells seem to be a bit ahead globally. CFU is still doing very well in comparison with most.
Please refer to all the "facts and figures" posts where I have found lists of AE and global FC cos in the last week or so.
Australia has been exceptional at trade barrier removal and industry deregulation since the mid-70s - which is why we have been a survivor in the past few global financial upheavals. If only they could get serious with the energy industry dereg. instead of just shuffling the cards with this silly carbon levy.
