Seeing as how this forum is as static as our share price at the moment, I thought I'd post some impressions I got from yesterday's AGM held on level 23 of the Rialto Towers in Melbourne.

Firstly, I hadn't been able to work out whether the shift in venue from Bendigo was an attempt to give the company a more international corporate make-over and distance it from its beginnings or to keep the small shareholders from Bendigo away. Mixed success on all points.

I must say that it was heartening to hear the General Manager of Exploration, Angela Lorrigan's upbeat description of what is happening at Henty, the Newton zone success etc. and the very encouraging exploration activities/possibilities in Tassy more broadly. A thoroughly enjoyable presentation!

Later, I did take the opportunity to enquire as to just what DGO (our farm-in partners) were up to on our exploration leases at Bendigo. I was hoping for a more definitive and enthusiastic response than that which was received as I couldn't help but mention Navarre's continuing exploration success just up the road at Tandarra.

The strong impression I got from that exchange was that YES the plant at Kangaroo Flat is on care & maintenance and YES they want to do SOMETHING with it! Puzzling?? Certainly all those interesting phrases are in use again, "Growth options/ Diversification & new opportunities" and my favourite, "Acquisitions in the junior gold sector".

Finally patient reader, our new CEO/MD, Andrew McIlwain was in attendance and yes he will be filling one of the Goldstone Board seats. The man is an imposing figure - must be at least 6'6" with a firm handshake and younger than expected. He comes across as being an 'energetic focussed go-getter'. Mrs Audacious was most impressed! Let's hope he is the right man at the right time as we could do with a 'company maker'! Oh, and he has a great sense of humour- Mrs A and I obviously weren't the only ones to notice the 'Spartan' catering!! LOL

One last thing, dividends will resume when it is prudent to do so. Dont remember the exact wording there.
