There are a number of reasons why the shareprice hasn't performed and probably the main reason is because Wally has done a terrible job of promoting the company to investors (Wally is a Geologist and doesn't think like an investor and therefore is hopeless at explaining things in a way that investors understand and he thinks doing good things with projects is all that is required and he is slowly realising that you need to value your investors and communicate with them in a more personal manner so that everyone understand what he is doing) currently 1/10 is the best you could give him re promoting the company effectively.
The main reason the shareprice is so low is because short term speculators expecting fast results are getting frustrated and they are dumping the stock and the serious investors are quite happy accumulating at the current rediculously low price levels and the amateurs are obliging nicely.
The professional investor who understands the market knows how the speculators think and react and a true professional doesn't chase the price aggressively and if somebody is crazy enough to dump a stock they will pull bids and let the amateur sell lower and lower to them.
The professional accumulates steadily and will pay higher if the selling thins out but if people are desperate to sell he will lower his bids and greatfully buy shares at lower prices.
The other main reason it appears the shareprice has been driven lower is because there is a major holder who has been steadily selling stock.
There is no fundamental reason why they would do this and it would appear they are doing this for a more personal reason.
Atlantic Golds major investors (not including AU Mining) have been investing with Ron & Wally since the days of Plutonic (when they made serious money) and it would appear that 1 or 2 of the major investors don't like the fact they are no longer the big cheese because AU Mining has come on the scene and is now the major shareholder.
It appears toys have been thrown out of the cot and hence the heavy selling.There is no fundamental reason why the stock should be being sold like it is so the most likely reason is a bruised ego.
When the big seller finishes selling the share price is likely to rise quite substantially based on the fundamentals of Touquoy and the titles and other issues which will be resolved in the coming months.
The time to be buying this stock is now because when the switch is flicked the shareprice could accelerate up very quickly and you wont get the chance to get back in at anywhere near the current prices.
Nobody knows exactly when the switch will be flicked which is why if you are a serious investor you need to establish your position before the switch is flicked if you wish to accumulate a decent sized position at cheap prices.
Currently there is plenty of accumulation going on of the stock at these low prices and the buyers will quietly soak up the stock being offered by panic sellers, they wont chase the price higher because they don't need to because the sellers are coming to them.
If nobody was desperately selling they would still be accumulating and the price would rise but currently they are gratefully accepting shareholders selling to them at firesale prices.
Having a strong cornerstone shareholder like AU Mining is a major plus for ATV and gives Wally extra options with regards to funding the companies activities which in the toxic market environment today is very important.
