An article in the Australian today states the $3bn Pratt family of Visy board notoriety is seeking a $300m grant in order to burn garbage in a 75 Mw power station.

They go on about creating jobs,, and a burnable product equivalent to brown coal.

BROWN COAL EQUIVALENT !! JUST WHAT AUSTRALIA NEEDS !

What an absolute farce !! The very thought of using Govt money to create a BROWN COAL EQUIVALENT out of matter normally carbon sequestrated as land fill is beyond a joke.

Everyone knows the stuff is better buried, and the resulting gas pockets utilized, as is the case globally.

It's good to have some political clout ,, and that's where the Pratt family may succeed with their 3rd world tech.

If only Coldry had a backer the likes of the Pratt family lobbying govt,,, we would see thousands of jobs created, millions of tonnes of low grade brown coal densified for compliant power production in the valley, and millions of tonnes exported into the huge back log of black coal orders that can not be filled due to lack of available product.
