Once again nothing of substance that couldn't have been said in Launie(lawny),what was the problem?,or was this a cap in hand venture for a stay of execution.
With the Japanese market has the potential to be flooded with cheap woodchips, and china using bulk recycled paper imports, surely you couldn,t tell me it is a commercially viable to grow hardwood plantations en mass now.
Since 2007 in Australia, check the ABS,20,000 hectares have been put in,How many tonnes a year do you need for a pulp mill to be viable?,do the math's
From Tasmanian Times below
There are two elephants in the room not mentioned at the AGM:
The lack of sufficient local plantation timber to run a Pulp Mill in Tasmania, the cost of shiipping across Bass Strait and the collapse of the Abetz inspired and promoted MIS scam that has completely stopped plantation planting for the future.
The approximate $30 million per annum in lease repayments on plantation land which produces no income until harvest. A sum Gunns struggles to pay.
These two unspoken key factors will bring the Pulp Mill plans undone and Gunns finally to liquidation.
