Bad publicity is no excuse for large superfunds as they employ people to do research. The company flagged the dividend back in May. It is purely laziness and incompetence that has seen a lack of investment from superfunds, who would rather throw other peoples' money away on sure losing bets like the Myer float so they get taken out to lunch by the brokers, rather than find clever arbitrage opportunities.
