Slipper's behavior predates Abbott's leadership by many years and it's a bit rich to try to blame Abbott for not doing anything about it, particularly in this parliament when you have toads like Wilke running around like king makers. Slipper's ultimate weapon against any effort by Abbot to "do something" was simply to go independent.
It's a disgrace to have such a person as speaker. That's a reflection on Albanese/Gillard.
