protest - just a joke

i didn't have time to attend the AGM this morning but i thought i'd stop by to check out what was described by scoop.nz yesterday as "the laregst environmental justice action in the history of Malaysia with opposition from thousands".

the word "lame" doesn't even come close. i counted 6 protesters who has positioned their signs around the christmas tree area and on the steps of customs house. they were handing out leaflets but none of the tourists seemed interested.

at this stage the customs house security came over and told SMSL to take their signs off the steps, which they did. they continued trying to hand leaflets to passers-by, largely without success.

i didn't engage them in conversation as i simply didn't have time. but i would love to have known why they were down here in sydney rather than up at today's walkthrough in kuantan.

what a waste of an airfare...
