Seeing this thread title is all about angst, and intended to be share trading related, I can tell you another story about angst.

My dad recently bought a nice place on acreage north of Sydney, and has been trying to sell the family home in Sydney for more than 8 months now, can't get anywhere near what it 'should' have been worth.

He is taking it off the market now in the hope things will improve next year.

He calmly admits to being very depressed about the lack of interest. Open days with no one. Same story with another house in the quiet cul de sac in Sydney's NW. I feel very sorry for him. Plenty of vendors in this position from what I have seen. Agents getting tired of turning up in their BMW's week after week for stubborn vendors.

There is angst all around in property and with share investments. No wonder people aren't signing up for enormous mortgages and lying about the baby plans to get more cash any more. This is a post gfc world we live in. The labor govt managed to prop up the market post gfc, but it is. Dead man walking IMO.
