My take on shorts is - if you have been shorting CDU in the last few months - you might close out and load up more shorts again on the assumption that this is just a spike like every other time.
Maybe all the sellers in the last few days have been new shorts? :0
They would exacerbate their own situation by first buying back and pushing up the price alogn with 'real', only to sell again to other 'real' buyers going with the flow...
I just can't see it coming down any time soon. This is a sustained increase in volume in the last 5 days.
