    Hi smithy9

I have just rented a house and I am disgusted by the methods used by the agents and I can assure you as far as my area is concerned you are 100% wrong

This week there are 673 properties for rent
The majority ie 90% of the agents will not give any personal inspections
They only have a property open for 10 minutes
The total number of properties OFI in one week averages about 30 properties.
Just do the sums. The other properties are sitting empty and not being serviced by the so called agents/property managers.
The property managers appear to be sadly lacking in knowledge and training and lack experience due to their young age

Properties that I did a drive by and tried to get inspections at over a month ago are still vacant, the agent at one stated “we only conduct OFIs” and when I asked when that would be she said they would do one when there were sufficient enquiries for the property

This was the same story from almost all the offices. I can only come to the conclusion that they are trying to artificially boost the rent prices by making it appear that there are a lot of people trying to get a rental

Of course the landlords are missing out on rent so for those landlords out there find out for yourself what is actually happening.

Having been a landlord previously this has been a real eye opener to me
